I took two restarts, decided not to take a third because the overall spawn was decent. My opponent didn't take a single restart. Apparently, he was tempted by Gunnar and the road to 3 adjacent mines. There were a lot of experience crystals; I cleared them with Vistan, and then it turned out he had taken Tactics and Earth Magic. I stopped at a temporary (nothing more permanent) leveling of him, and eventually he also caught a Log. The entrances to the treasure zones were fairly close, so I wasn't worried about my own treasure zones. But I spotted an entrance to the opponent's zone near a path through wasteland. I ran there. I was afraid the opponent would start digging for the Grail, but on day 127 I saw from the gold that he didn't have it, so I calmed down. I slowly cleared a treasure zone, scouting with Adela, for whom I specifically bought Air Magic using the opponent's heroes. There I found +6 All Stats, an Air Magic book on Earth, a +5 All Stats sword, and a +4/+4 breastplate in a level 3 Utopia. Then I took one of the opponent's castles with a Lich and went to clear another treasure zone, eventually aiming to take another Utopia in a treasure zone that the opponent had apparently entered. I beat the opponent by blocking the Utopia on the last move, but I couldn't fight because the guard wasn't broken. On the next turn, I broke through, and it was a good thing I blocked it, because there was a +3 Necklace and an Earth Magic book. Then, with control, I easily went to kill the opponent; he gave a final battle, which went through one gate because the stacks weren't countered.
