Yeah, that's a great replacement. There's no other way to put it. I tried so hard to explain to the same remix how important it is for the modding community to know the author, rather than the author working solely to develop the platform for someone else. But even the mod authors themselves don't understand that this is necessary. To give you an idea, these groups are not only a "great replacement" for ghost sites, but they are also a direct reason why sites become empty and die. There is a direct competition for the audience. And, of course, it's easier for them to win because they don't have to spend time and effort on content creation. That's why the attention goes there, and no one sees the need to go to those forums. If there were dialogue and cooperation between the authors and, for example, this group, it would be a completely different story.
