Ships are most often given female names, although this is more common in our country with all sorts of "Vernye" and "Potemkins."

That's exactly what I'm talking about. We live in Russian-speaking countries (Revan no longer does), and we speak Russian. What's the point of this absurd LARP about the fact that since the English speak of ships as women, it means that a ship is a woman – it's unclear.

A woman has primary sexual characteristics that define her as a woman. A ship does not have sexual characteristics. Therefore, the only way to determine its gender is to use its "gender" in the Russian language.
Moreover, it wasn't me who started this, but Revan himself, who called tanks "men" and ships "women." At the same time, for tanks, he referred to the Russian language, but for ships, he no longer does. It's a very strange position on his part.
