The start of the game was sweet: labetka, moner, aislin + slow with bless in the GM, and you could also clear the chests.
Notably, we both played without restarts.
But then I made what were probably overly cocky moves: buying an 8th hero, upgrading Air Elementals turned out to be excessive, and I was 2k short for building Firebirds. Then another mistake with the bird on 121, but 3 Dragon Fly Hives didn't let me lose heart and the game gradually got going.
Towards the end of Week 2, Galtran comes running out of some unclear portal where a green player had been lurking, but since the opponent wasn't taking the computer, I wasn't expecting a rush at all, and ended up cut off with all my power far from the Conflux, near a swamp 6k.
And the Tower had Dimension Door) And of course, I overcomplicated things: rushed to take Dragon Utopias in search of luck and wasted my army, but I got 3 leveled-up heroes. And after capturing the Conflux, there were chances. In my adjacent zone and at the respawn, the wells were quite favorably placed, and finding another Griffin Conservatory far from the respawn with a scout, I activated all possible forces to take that and another conservatory via 2 Dimension Doors.
However, I got lucky catching Galtran in Chains without a stack of skeletons.

I mistakenly jumped into the central adjacent zone via a one-way portal... It seemed like it was the orange player's central 6k treasure zone with a village. But no! There was no portal back, of course!!! I miscalculated VERY badly, I should have checked the zone with a scout hero first, instead of jumping in immediately with my main... For some reason, I thought that since I had cleared the 6k guard, I would definitely end up where I needed to go. God, what a [censored] I am... And then there was no choice left: either go God knows where, which would have been a perfectly fine option if I had taken the green player's town, or capture the opponent's guild hoping he hadn't learned Town Portal yet. I decided to play more recklessly and went for the opponent's main. And then instead of sitting for 2 turns doing nothing, hoping to get Town Portal myself from the opponent's guild (which would of course have come on the 6th try: the opponent had already done 1 rebuild, so I only had 4 left :smile54: ), so I should have left the town and eaten something behind the mountains (a max Cyclops dwelling, for example, since resources were running out and there was basically nowhere to get new ones), but I was afraid that Brissa would reach the town with Dimension Door and I'd get caught through a reshuffle. But it turned out she had no mana and couldn't reach it through the well... I couldn't have expected that, because she was retreating on a bird with 30 mana. And I could possibly have figured out that she had gotten to the portal that quickly thanks to Dimension Door, but for some reason I thought she had walked there. And indeed, it would have been 2400 movement points on foot directly from the freshly captured town. A stable or advanced logistics there and it's in the bag. But I had to keep taking risks. Since I had already started playing recklessly, I needed to continue doing so. Halfway through, once already deep in all the heavy stuff, switching to conservatism and caution equals idiocy. So changing my approach to the game in the middle of it also slightly affected its outcome. And after that, the opponent in the adjacent line-of-sight zone stood at the well with 2 heroes, and it seemed to me that I was about to catch both of them. In the end, I was 200 movement points short: and I didn't catch either one. Epic fail. Just sit down and calculate properly — there's plenty of time! But nooo! Why didn't I take the Bones with me: I can't even explain it to myself now. Like, they ruin morale under the hero kill of Aislin on ones. LOL! Kaslov's army and Bones and morale. Yeah, right. Mega brain!...:smile35: Apparently I'll never wise up. Even playing outright nonsense, I could have given a final show here and maybe even won. But sorry. Too much intelligence is weighing on my head.
