I'm very glad that my mention sparked such a lively discussion about this topic! I'd like to say that throughout my entire time playing the fourth game (4-5 years), I never built Minotaurs. I just don't like them. As for Medusas, they inflict petrification, have infinite arrows, and deal the same damage in melee – they're a great unit, especially if you gather around a hundred of them. Let's say you attack a strong (physically) hero. What will the Minotaurs do to him? They won't be able to do much, and the Medusas' shots won't do much either, but they'll be followed by petrification!
