Final Battle - 13

Remembered the good old HOTA games in SOD, wanted to surrender about 4 times and threw up just as many times :D

I had 1 more restart, I lost because I immediately saw 2 confluxes near the main. Then I found another one. The roads turned out to be long, and when I ran to the green player, Reddi killed him right away. Galthran was shining there. Well, I turned around and ran along the side roads to the pink one. I found an Armageddon scroll, had a Conflux town, bought Gundula Fire, took a 2-stack on 125 under Armageddon. Then I picked up the rest of the confluxes (5 in total), and with 12 angels went into Utopia. There I got a Water Book, a Fire Book, and a +12 shield. I cursed, used Gundula with Fly to take Cyclops stockpiles and other resource piles, and rebuilt the town. When I realized it would be tough, I decided to risk taking the opponent's Necropolis town with the motivation to harass him, and there I found a Dragon Utopia that he had obviously just rebuilt. That changed the plans, I took 2 Utopias on the next turn with Gundula, who had long been ready for such moves, leveled up the controllers and started collecting the map. The opponent revealed 1000 skeletons and I realized that Necro there was barely holding on. Then we didn't conflict until week 4, on week 4 I started harassing him again, taking his towns, he took them back. I had 2 full controls, he only had 2. Everything was heading toward me eventually leaving him with 1-2 towns, but on the turn when everything was very critical, I left supports in a village that a horse was able to reach. After that loss I could still have recovered if I hadn't stayed overnight in the main (because I dug up Grindan). But the opponent attacked, I had no Town Portal, only Recanter. Unfortunately, under Recanter a bolt that dealt 1000 damage got through.
The discovery showed that before AOTD (which I practically had), Town Portal was only in one Utopia, which neither I nor the opponent would likely have found quickly.
