From a certain point, I stopped maining Valeska, switched to Alkin, who got both needed spells, but both took a very long time to level up. I was only able to find my first Griffin Conservatories deep in the central 23rd zone, three days' travel off-road.
Consequently, due to the near absence of resources and objects, I entered the Dragon Utopias without magic, without building the Mage Guild, and with a rather modest army, at the moment when the opponent with Dimension Door had already taken my main. Because of this, I had to leave the nearest Dragon Utopia for the opponent to take, retreating myself into the orange player's wasteland, where a minimal zone gave a Tome of Earth.
The opponent has 10+ Angels visible, while I only had attempts not to lose towns, to build/rebuild the Mage Guild, and try to catch up.
In the end, after three Dragon Utopias, my stats were significantly higher than the opponent's, but everything was ruined by the opponent's Fire Elemental and his 17 Archers.
On turn 144, realizing the hopelessness of my situation, I decided to try my luck and cover the green player in my main.
In the final fight, very sweaty, with Anti-Magics, hitting Mass Berserk, etc., I still managed on a shoestring to send the gold specialist to Avalon, or wherever.
We played with the Fresh Mod; the road changes here are certainly significant, especially regarding the replacement of one-way portals.
Thank you for such a tough game — I thought it would be simpler!!
