[TOURNAMENT-SoD] Novice - 2020. Winter

Very strange generation. The castles were connected via an adjacent zone by road, about 5000 moves away, and the Town Hall was in some snowy corner. Opponent covered my scout hero with an army but broke on my Citadel. A war of mages ensued. In the end, Grindan pounded Kyrre with bolts over several attempts. Lucky that the opponent decided to level Kyrre instead of Solmyr. Thanks for the game.

My opponent and I used all the restarts; the first generation was incredible (external dwelling of nagas under the castle, 2-3 Griffin Conservatories in the adjacent zone), then only boring shooter guards and crooked roads. The last roll pleased with 3 external dwellings of gremlins and some semblance of roads, plus Kyrre appeared. Her leveling was mediocre, though, she never got Earth or Air Magic, ending up without any element. But she did have Tactics and Offense.
Money ran out quickly; in the neighboring Inferno zone (quite large) I found nothing except a town and a passage to the underground behind upgraded Gog magi. On day 122, there was an encounter with the opponent at his respawn, then on day 123 I attacked Grindan at the Citadel. A stupid move in itself, and I also lost additional Master Grendels, forgetting about the ban on recruiting after casting in the 1st round.
Overall, after that encounter, I played poorly; on day 126 I took a double Griffin Conservatory in the Necro-adjacent zone and thought, here's salvation. But no. A couple of turns later, Grindan traps me in the underground with a strong army on Kyrre and a max Dragon Fly Hive that I didn't take, fearing to lose my magi and Master Grendels. Apparently, that was a mistake. The trade once again went against me; the opponent recruited in the main, I lost my army and the chance to take the Dragon Fly Hive.
Later we saved and finished today. I ran to the adjacent zone, found a Shield +3, an arena, visited the library at the respawn, went to the well. Kyrre had 50 mana; I stupidly exposed myself by dropping golems on Astral, standing right next to the well. As a result, an inevitable battle; the opponent, on goblins and 20 Energy Elementals with a ton of mana, finished me off. Incidentally, there was a chance to leave Grindan on a goblin and run away with Kyrre, then cover him with a scout hero on a gargoyle, but I only figured out this "ace" opportunity after the game.
