I replayed from a save with the mentor, rerolled for Chaos and defense instead of Darkness, and cleared the second tier with meteors, almost without any losses . It's a pity about a couple of colossi, but the main forces – about 40 mages and twenty giants – are not yet involved and are calmly waiting for their redemption in the castle, plus I recovered two mages. I'm playing on, waiting for the gnome; for once, the mentor is so easily accessible, and that's what's saving me so far.

I defeated the gnome at the cost of losing the giants, but the rest are intact . But this was on the last day of the week, so the losses are almost replenished, and the mages, colossi, and rakshasas are still not fully redeemed. I built a portal to the city, returned the mentor that I had dropped off at the mentor's place last time; it seems like everything is getting back on track. Let's see what enemies will appear next.
