I'll say it again, it looks like a cult.

It really does resemble a cult – the lack of optionality and the inability to disable the new features of HotA (as it was implemented in WoG – the ability to play WoG under SoD).
Although, it seems like this would only benefit the entire community.

and there are far fewer people who say they are fundamentally for HotA and against SoD than there are those who are true SoD fans.

Can you provide a link to the statistics?
For example, I just saw the opposite in the CIS region – that SoD fans are willing to play a full mix of versions, while HotA fans are "standing their ground."
