Because what you like to call “SoD” is actually the real “Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete Edition” (and SoD (Shadow of Death) is just one of the single-player campaigns from there). And HotA is just an amateur mod, albeit a heavily hyped one; we won’t discuss its quality here.
Besides, “Новичок-ЛЕТО” for HotA was held two summers ago. If it wasn't held last summer, ask its organizers.

Those who sign up for the tournament know where they are going. The rules are clearly stated.

I just checked the HotA lobby – 1171 people. In the SoD lobby – 75. It seems obvious.

It may be obvious to you, but for me, quantity doesn’t mean quality. If more people come to a free concert by some Стас Михайлов than to a paid classical music concert, it doesn’t mean that “Стас Михайлов” is better.
