I like Anton's idea. It positions the Soda tournament as an optional side event, which will definitely attract a quorum of 8+ people who were eliminated in the 1st round of the HotA tournament. So, personally, I don't see a problem with starting the 1st round of Soda simultaneously with the 2nd round of HotA. There is already a practice (and a good one) of tournaments with two brackets on Hv (for example, the very popular blitz-jebus). There is no "discrediting" here. On the contrary, all participants will be equally happy with the game. For example, it won't be as disappointing to be drawn against a "hypothetical FTS and the like" in the 1st round. p.s. 2DD: Curling is power! Nothing to say in response.
