Whether they are real heroes or not, it doesn't matter, in any case, they are all heroes. And the fact that in one of the versions it's an online game indicates that there is no question of the third heroes dying.

Initially, the discussion was about the supposed imminent (or already happened) death of SoD (this word has become established to refer to "Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Shadow of Death"). Which, to put it mildly, is not entirely correct, as SoD is just one of the single-player campaigns from that game.
