On April 12, Major Estella Zidreich's battalion was supposed to reunite with the main forces of the 12th Army Corps in the city of Brut, occupied by imperial forces, but they met on April 9, a few days' journey from their destination. As it soon became clear, one extremely disturbing incident had occurred in Brut. A large part of the city's residents were aggressive toward the invaders, which first caused minor conflicts and then large rallies, where, among other things, the city's residents appeared with offensive posters directed at the ruler of the empire. As a result, the following order came from central command: avoiding casualties among those residents who did not associate themselves with these groups, subject the rally participants to mass and exemplary execution. Brigadier General Realgar Muscari refused to carry out this order and, since the majority of the soldiers under his command were personally loyal to him, this threatened to escalate into a serious internal strife; however, the general ordered his troops to leave Brut and await further instructions from command. Colonel Engressa Roselit, wishing to avoid open conflict between soldiers loyal to the crown and those who, due to this emotional event, supported the general's ideas, agreed to his proposal and withdrew the troops from Brut.
On April 16, while Colonel Engressa Roselit was reorganizing the 12th Corps, Major Estella Zidreich's battalion received the following assignment from her: occupy Brut, liquidate or capture Realgar Muscari, and eliminate all who bear arms. According to the information received, only the Brut militia was under the command of the former general, but the colonel advised the soldiers not to underestimate the enemy.
On April 18, the second battle for Brut took place, as a result of which the militia forces were routed, Realgar Muscari was captured, and Eli was killed (she disobeyed orders and secretly sneaked into the city, intending to fight the teacher one-on-one).
On April 19, the Brut rebels were gathered in the town square, where imperial mage Shogo volunteered to execute them using the "Gravity" spell. Out of respect for the former general, Engressa Roselit executed Realgar Muscari personally and away from prying eyes, reducing the latter's suffering to a minimum. On this day, Private Berwang also took his own life: he could not cope with the cruelty he had been forced to witness and participate in, and shot himself in the head.
On April 23, Parfinora von Flexia and Ogma Ariamis were promoted to the rank of captain, given command of several companies, as well as a new assignment: penetrate northern Darkiria, capture Frostrime fortress, and prepare Luciola Reime for further transportation.
On June 1, the battle for Frostrime took place. This fortress was not equipped according to modern standards, so its capture was nothing overly complex, meaning the results of this battle depended solely on the talents of their commanders, the bravery of the soldiers, and available resources. To many's surprise, Saphiros became the enemy commander in this battle. He and his detachment deserted after Realgar Muscari's order to leave Brut. The only exception was Chitose Hiragi, who mysteriously lost consciousness on the day of their flight and remained with the main forces.
During this operation, the forces of both sides were almost completely destroyed. As for the students, their fate was as follows:
- Anemone Agniades was torn to pieces by a direct artillery hit.
- Bakis Qualrid stepped on a mine.
- Galmei protected his comrades from Loyan's own frantic attack and entered into a duel with him, resulting in both killing each other.
- Marius Elwizer shot Nao Antagora and Engar with a sniper rifle.
- Xeris Elwezeris fell into an abyss.
- Akiyama Yosuke helped someone from the third class, because of which he himself was crushed by heavy fragments of the fortress.
- Mira Orknight and Spark Zarek were liquidated by a duo of Terwings.
- The only survivor among the same students of Arcadia present here was Saphiros. Since he did not pose a great threat as a combat unit, capturing him was simple.
- All other (unnamed) soldiers under the command of Parfinora and Ogma were destroyed.
On June 6, an imperial stealth airship arrived in Frostrime, one of the few purchased by the empire from Ixia. According to the instructions received, the survivors were organized into special forces battalion number 606; Parfinora von Flexia was appointed commander and promoted to major. Ogma Ariamis was appointed her deputy.
On this day, Luciola Reime was transported to the empire.
Over the next five months, Battalion No. 606 participated in various operations on the northern front until, finally, the Darkirian conflict came to an unexpected end. By this time, the battalion had lost Lily Ohrizon and Mirair.
By the end of October, imperial forces occupied all of eastern Darkiria, but the war was far from over: the enemy command was very competent and persistent. On October 28, however, something unexpected happened: troops of the 12th Army Corps under the command of Engressa Roselit entered the capital of Darkiria without any resistance.
On November 2, Empress Rinze Reime flew to the capital. On this day, the Duke of Darkiria was publicly executed for treason against the empire and war crimes committed by his subjects. When this part of the ceremony was over, an unarmed Krait Brydenwild approached the empress, knelt before her, kissed the toe of her right shoe, and wiped it with a handkerchief. Then he said: "I, Krait Brydenwild, swear that in life and in death I will be eternally devoted to the empress and her land, will protect the interests of the Reime Empire, and will not bring shame to its name. Enemies may destroy my body, but they can never conquer my will. The Empire above all, long live Her Majesty Rinze Reime!".
After this, the empress placed the Darkirian crown on the commander-in-chief's head. Along with this, Darkiria returned to the composition of the Reime Empire, but retained a certain degree of autonomy comparable to that which it possessed during the reign of Olivia Lapis Reime.
General Engressa Roselit and several divisions under her command remained in the capital of Darkiria to keep the local government under control, while the other Reimes left the north and went to help on other fronts. It was now up to the Darkirians themselves to fight the Darkirian partisans and rebels.
By March 836, only the two empires and the republic remained active participants in the war, and therefore defeat was an inevitable fate for the latter.
In the early stages of this war, the Larians tried with all their might to prevent the landing of Ixian troops on the territory of Tanarsis, but failed, which forced them to widely disperse their forces across the territories of allies. Now that Reime's troops were not scattered across different fronts, the republic could not cope with two opponents simultaneously but, as it soon became clear, it had an ace up its sleeve.
On March 7, Cassius Reime approved a strategic bombing using a new weapon — the ephemeral bomb. In reality, the development of this weapon was the reason why the republic wanted to delay the start of the war but, unfortunately for it, the project was only completed by the spring of this year.
The republic's aviation destroyed a huge part of Reime's troops on its territory (along with a couple of its own cities), sank Ixia's fleet (Carmiona Vermilion went down with her ships) and struck the capital of Reime: the palace and surrounding areas were completely destroyed but, by some miracle, the empress and the people near her were not harmed during the bombing. Eyewitnesses reported that after this incident, the ruler's hair was white as snow, and her eyes gleamed purple.
As a result of the Larian bombing:
- Edelweiss destroyed.
- "Avaris" destroyed along with all the circus performers.
- Harmony destroyed.
- Magnolia's shop destroyed but, by a fortunate turn of events, the owner was sailing at the time and was not harmed.
- Akeso destroyed
Among the numerous victims was also Mari Kamiya.
Cassius Reime demanded unconditional surrender from the empire, but Empress Rinze Reime refused. The war continued.
On June 10, the empire's 606 battalion carried out a stealth attack on the republic's government building and captured Cassius Reime, as a result of which the war between the empire and the republic ended several months early. Victims of this battle were Romeo Helsward, Shiris Reimeford, Minerva Ariamis, Azarina Eisenbach, and Anelotta Monardine.
On June 15, Dreyeria stepped onto the territory of the Reime Empire without a declaration of war; a new conflict began which, however, ended on August 11 when the empire finally mastered and successfully applied Larian strategic weaponry against the new opponent. Dreyeria and Reime signed a peace treaty. Dreyeria had to renounce its Brightwin lands.
On August 30, members of Battalion No. 606 were allowed to write an official letter to the empress requesting some reward for their service. Naturally, subjects should have thought through their request carefully, otherwise it could result in a refusal or even execution in case of showing disrespect to the empress.
On November 26, the rebellion under the command of Yuki Kamiya, who had disappeared after the Larian bombing, was suppressed; the rebels were publicly executed, and Yuki Kamiya himself was placed under indefinite house arrest.
