Griffonheart is the surname of the ruling dynasty of Erathia. Palaedra is a state created by the Erathians on Axoth.

"only a Griffonheart can wield the true blade"??? There is no such hero in the editor!

This means that only a descendant of the Griffonhearts can wield this sword. In the human campaign, Lysander is such a character.
