The session turned out to be quite fascinating, and at the end, Marey was in a state of mild confusion, wondering how quickly the time had flown by, although that wasn't the only reason. Having developed neat and beautiful handwriting since childhood, Marey was used to approaching writing primarily from a utilitarian perspective, and although he recognized the aesthetics, he discovered the creative aspect for the first time at the club meeting. The standard Siivol was the same for everyone, but among the students' work, there were no two identical pieces. In each brushstroke, there was the author's personal perception of the hieroglyph, their established character, their current emotions. Marey realized this from the very beginning, but how bitterly he felt when he understood that his skill did not allow him to express on paper everything that his mind contained! He wrote the symbol over and over again, sometimes faltering, rushing, not calculating the ink, and clearly not meeting the requirements of a meditative state of concentration. He calmed down, gathered himself, and started again, but still left the room in a somewhat irritated state.
"It's a different culture, after all. To write like a Nihon, you have to think like a Nihon, or something like that."
Nevertheless, he was quite satisfied; the day had passed pleasantly and usefully. Would he continue to attend the club? He certainly wanted to, but was his mind too restless, too unstable for this activity? Or, on the contrary, was it precisely because of this that he should go, to achieve inner harmony – and he seemed, albeit in rare moments, to be approaching something like that? The decision, however, was not urgent, and for now, he could practice on his own; in the process, he would understand how much he liked it.
"Maybe I should organize a club myself? A magical one... But would I, even as a chairman, try to organize these people, to keep them busy with something? Absurd... And besides, all the most interesting things are done in secret, and wouldn't someone report me if I were to do something like that summoning I did earlier? No, that's hardly the best idea..."
