The unfamiliar, cold climate, the snow hindering movement, and the opponent taking the initiative – all the conditions of the battle were against their team. Furthermore, their lack of experience in defensive battles was evident – all previous victories were achieved by seizing the initiative and launching swift attacks, where all or almost all available forces were thrown into the forefront. For these reasons, the outcome of the battle did not surprise Linnea, but rather seemed perfectly logical to her. However, being caught in another machine gun barrage was still not a pleasant experience.
