well, if the file is located correctly, you also need to add a slash:

MessageBox("/Maps/SingleMissions/Revolution vol2/exroadmsg.txt");

but the best way, as I wrote before, is:

MessageBox(GetMapDataPath().."exroadmsg.txt");
