Poles believe that the Commonwealth = Poland (they even have it written in their Constitution). But even if you explain to them the broader historical meaning of the phrase, they are unlikely to replace it with a Belarusian (and even more so, a Lithuanian!).
It's a pity that one mustachioed and balding man decided to abandon our history in favor of Russian loans :( :( :(
