Having reached his destination, Moriner stopped. As it turned out, his classmate, Light, had gotten there before him.
— I'm really very sorry that this happened! — Light bowed his head. — Forgive me... Please.
Kaori patted the boy on the head. — It's okay, I'm not angry or holding a grudge. Just promise me that this won't happen again, not just with me, but with anyone, okay?
— Of course, I promise...
After saying goodbye to the sick girl, he headed towards the exit and, noticing Moriner, blushed like a tomato. He walked past him in silence and disappeared around the corner.

Moriner wasn't sure that Light, knowing his character, would come running to apologize profusely, but he was genuinely glad that he was wrong.
— Oh, um, hello. — He made an awkward greeting gesture to Kaori with his hand. — I guess after... what happened, seeing our faces again probably won't improve your mood much, but I'm here for pretty much the same reason as Light.
Moriner paused briefly, gathering his thoughts.
— I'm really very sorry for what I did, and I understand that my heartfelt apologies probably won't do much to help your recovery, but I want you to know that I sincerely and deeply regret everything and hope that this won't affect your health or studies.
Turning briefly towards the departing Light, he added:
— To be honest, Light is an excellent engineer and a wonderful inventor, and none of this would have happened at all if I hadn't ruined everything with my inexperience and clumsiness. So don't be angry with him, rather be angry with me. And once again, please forgive me for ruining your vacation. — He also bowed his head.
