2. Two factions are chosen right before the game, knowing the opponent's favorites, by informing the judge of your chosen faction: knowing that Sergey plays Necropolis and Dungeon, I choose between Academy and Haven. I might get a clearly losing matchup like Haven-Dungeon, a mediocre Haven-Necropolis, or Academy-Necropolis, and an acceptable Academy-Dungeon.
There is no ban on factions for the next game, even if I play Haven for the entire series.
