the opponent gave me a handicap, in terms of choosing the template myself, I decided to play 8mm6a as a result: it turned out to be a tough game, where everything was like a seesaw, anyone could have won, but I was a bit luckier. thanks for the game!
We both had good rolls with an excellent set of heroes: the opponent had Ciele with Earth, Luna taking a Griffin Conservatory one on day three, and the red-haired dog Tazar, who ruined the game for me
I had a cool necro - Aislinn with Expert Earth in the middle of week one, Bron with 7 Beholders, Torgrim level 5 with Advanced Logistics, freed from a prison on the first turn, and a bunch of minor mage supports, including Alamar, Solmyr, Brissa, Aenain.
Of course, I could have wrapped things up on day 122, seeing that I could reach Tazar on the last moves with max movement, my eyes bulging, I ran off to kill him, and after that, couldn't reach Luna with the army, who was standing in the fog just a bit further away. By doing this, I gave my opponent a saving turn, on which he grabbed a Dragon Fly Hive for 8 Wyverns and attacked me with Ciele.
The opponent had 27 Archers, 18 Dendroids, an Angel, 8 Dwarves, 5 Unicorns, 5 Pegasi, and 19 Gnomes, and 40 mana with 2 Spell Power
I had 117 Skeletons, 4 Phoenixes, 4 Magi, 17 Air Elementals, and the same 8 Dwarves, and 21 mana with 8 Spell Power, which was enough for a Meteor Shower on the Archers and Dendroids in the first round, and for Mass Slow. The opponent, in turn, was casting Haste on his units.
My opponent played very composedly, while I fought the battle terribly, left the opponent with an Angel on 6 HP, 3 Unicorns, 5 Dwarves, and Gnomes, but the worst part, I failed to save 2 Phoenixes because I didn't leave money for a retreat. I just had to retreat.
Of the troops, 6 Beholders and 3 Water Elementals remained; I had to use them to retake a village and the Boots of Speed so the opponent wouldn't get them. I also traded all resources for the main hero's ransom, so there was no longer any question of rebuilding the Mage Guild.
On Gremlins, Gargoyles, and Mages, I collected money for the respawn of the captured AI-Tower, and managed to prevent the opponent from reaching my main and captured one of their Ramparts. Making it to the growth week, I went into the treasure zone, retook the Necromancer's Boots, saved up 200 Skeletons, took a Griffin Conservatory 2 + from the chests got a decent amount of meat (25 Griffins and 30 Monks). With these troops, I headed towards the opponent, but gave the troops to a level zero hero and stayed on a Phoenix with max movement.
The opponent emerged from the treasure zone on day 135 with stats of 12-15, after taking a Dragon Utopia one with a Sword of +5 All Stats, and attacked me with 3 Angels, 33 Wyverns, and 19 Archers.
So I was left without an army again, but I managed to kill 2 Angels and 3 Dwarves, and drain the remaining mana from Ciele, which was very important, because after attacking Aislinn on a Phoenix, after a Meteor Shower on the Archers and Mass Slow, it was the opponent who had to retreat. The money from the Dragon Utopia went into my pocket; it was enough to buy a new army.
At the start of the fourth month, there was another, the most epic final battle.
In which I had an obvious advantage, but the Dwarves resisted 3!!! out of 6 Meteor Showers, and I had to flee again, leaving the opponent with 8 Wyverns and 15 upgraded Gnomes.
But this was my last chance to win, because the opponent captured my main, built a Tower with Town Portal, and with scrolls of Dimension Door and Armageddon, my further efforts were pointless.
On day 211, I ran into Luna with an Armageddon scroll in a level one village and was roasted in one fell swoop, nothing but bones remained.
This is GG. Thanks for the game, it was HOT... :smile54:
Good luck further on, the opponents there are more serious...
