If you need the money urgently, you can refer to Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – this is a case of public prosecution, so reconciliation with the victim is not grounds for termination. If the driver committed the crime for the first time, then, of course, they may terminate the case under Article 76 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, but only the investigator/judge decides. In any case, you should now communicate more closely with your investigator: your interests in the case coincide.
