What difference does it make! It just doesn't look good, that's why they removed it! Why do something that doesn't look good?
As far as I remember, the Nival team was told to change the Necropolis faction because they didn't fit the canon of the universe, and they did it, but in a clumsy way. And I personally prefer a 100% restored vampire faction over that half-baked one. (They ruined that model instead of just recoloring the textures).
