The best adaptation of Mowgli is the Soviet cartoon. Even the fact that Bagheera is portrayed as a female character doesn't ruin it. The atmosphere and aesthetics are excellent, and it stays true to the book (even though not everything was adapted). Sometimes I just nitpick Disney, but they really messed up "The Jungle Book" in a particularly awful way.
