In my opinion, it’s not worth focusing on where they assigned whom and to what faction. After all, Heroes isn’t really based on mythology, so you can come up with your own ideas. Of course, genies look more appropriate in the sands, but they also looked good in the snow. In general, it’s easier for me to say which creatures I don’t like, rather than which races I don’t like. For example, the universally beloved “tumbochki” annoy me, although I don’t mind playing as mages. On the other hand, orcs have normal creatures, but I play as them less. As I said above, I don’t have any particular dislike for any race in general. P.S.
