The manual for the editor says that you should first create a so-called sketch. I don't quite understand what that is, but the idea is to first apply the initial textures to the map. Determine where the water barriers, forests, fields, and castles will be located. First, place the bodies of water, then paint the terrain, place the castles... in short, everything is detailed in the manual. In the Dungeon, you should first change the lighting to daytime, otherwise you won't see anything, then dig the tunnels and apply the textures to them.

I have Heroes of Might & Magic V - Hammers of Fate 2.0. I can't build maps. More precisely, I can't choose objects and change the ground textures (change the grass)! It's all empty; I've already tried using the object filter and installing a Russian language pack, but nothing helps. I also have Heroes 5: Throne of the King, and the editor works fine there. You'll probably suggest mapping in that editor (Throne of the King) and then transferring the maps to Hammers of Fate... BUT NO, I WANT DWARVES AND I WANT SNOW!

Throne of the King is definitely a pirated copy. My idiot brother swapped my original licensed copy for a pirated one for a while. What a fool. I had to go and buy the silver edition. And I advise you to do the same. And if you have doubts about how to tell a pirated copy from a licensed one, search on websites for what a licensed copy looks like.

You're hilarious! You have a pirated copy, you Ukrainian! NO, licensed editions do not include the Throne of the King campaign. There is the original Heroes game with this cover:

There is the Hammers of Fate add-on with this cover:

And there is what you need: the silver edition, which includes the original game, the add-on, and a bonus mission for Nival's 10th anniversary.

If you can't buy licensed copies in Ukraine, look here to see how to order the discs online. And keep in mind that with the release of the new add-on, you will have to buy another "super collection" from pirates instead of a disc with the official add-on. I'm not even talking about patches; in Throne of the King, the dwarves are not patched... so, decide for yourself: pay twice for a pirated copy, wasting money on finding fixes on the internet, or buy licensed software. By the way: there is also an option to download the latest patch, which is about 100 MB, from the Nival website, but it may not work on a pirated copy... at least, it may simply not find it.
