Sacred Haven of Debauchery

In 2007, the Tobu Zoo in Japan acquired an 11-year-old Humboldt penguin named Grape-kun and his companion, Midori. They lived together for over 10 years until the female penguin left for a younger penguin. As a result, Grape-kun became withdrawn.

However, in April 2017, he began to show interest in an anime figure named Hululu, which was placed to attract visitors. Hululu is an anthropomorphic female penguin from the children's anime Kemono Friends. Grape-kun could spend hours looking at her, trying to reach the figure. When the media wrote about this, he gained worldwide fame, especially on social media. However, the health of the 20-year-old penguin began to deteriorate, and in October of the same year, he passed away.
