You mentioned somewhere that the skinning was either glitching or looking off. I'd like to point out that skinning should be done after you've edited the skeleton (adjusted it to the mesh, in terms of size and joint alignment). Otherwise, the skinning will be incorrect. And if you do the skinning and then move or change a bone, the skinning will also be incorrect.
