Surviving in a deadly civilizational competition means "failing"? You're exaggerating. In reality, after World War II, we became the second world superpower.

If by "results" you mean what's happening now, just look at the objective data: and forget about "superpower status," but it's a complete outrage when I'm denied a hospital bed (and this is Yekaterinburg, the third capital), so they can provide a wheelchair to bring my exhausted mother into the ward, and we are forced to carry her there. At the same time, the person cannot eat, cannot drink, cannot move – and after three hours of this ordeal (because there's no other way to describe the situation where four different doctors take turns asking about all the symptoms again, even though everything has already been recorded and all the medical documents are with us), the verdict is: "there are no grounds for hospitalization." That is, if a person in such a situation has no relatives, they are kicked out onto the street to die.
Statistical data speaks for itself: Russia is dying out, and even migration growth is no longer helping. A "superpower" is deliberately and gradually destroying its population, taking the last pennies from impoverished citizens, paying off the obligations of the USSR, forgiving billions in debt to other countries, and providing aid to other countries (at the very time when its own population is dying out). For what purpose? To satisfy the ambitions of federal mafia bosses? What good did this "superpower status" do for my dying mother? And I only mentioned one medical case – and there are millions of them every year.
And for comparison, we can look at "defeated" Germany: the standard of living, the level of income, social guarantees, the quality of various (not only medical) services...
