Well, it's a matter of perspective... It's not that simple. For example, as a result of the war, Great Britain lost its colonies and its status as a superpower, ceding it to the United States.

Germany was the superpower in those years; I saw it mentioned somewhere in a documentary, but I'm not sure. After Germany, the United States became the superpower.
