1. The regulations do not provide for a lower bracket; it will be an Olympic-style best-of-three. The first-place teams advance to the 1/16 round, and the second and third-place teams play each other in the 1/32 round. This was all mentioned above.
2. Of course, you can choose a hero for Conflux where it is allowed by the rules - on Jebus. The regulations clarify this for mirrored templates (where there is a bidding war for the hero); on other templates, it is random.
