He also had an old bestiary of aliens from classic science fiction, Barlowe's Guide to Extraterrestrials: Great Aliens from Science Fiction Literature.







But the best thing is the Barlowe's Inferno series and the related book "Demon Lord" (available in Russian).





He seems to be the only artist who has managed to somewhat capture the descriptions of the lower worlds by Daniil Andreev.





Perhaps he even read "The Rose of the World" and retained some semblance of sanity...

I generally love picture books, especially about all sorts of bizarre creatures.
Sometimes I even buy bestiaries for various tabletop role-playing games on Amazon, just as art albums. Some of them are very good.
