The difficulty is the highlight of this campaign; I'm playing it for the 4th time, and it's still challenging, which makes it interesting.
Do you have EWA installed? I'm playing with it. It significantly increases the difficulty of battles, even for a Warrior. Tell me, after the first map, which direction is preferable to go: towards the portal near the castle or to open the passage to the dwarves? Half of the neutrals were wiped out by imps with a wave and a chain. Only the dwarven greaves remain, guarded by an army of dwarves (15 Arcata dragons (no Sandro) - I don't know how to deal with them - they are the only ones left from the entire army and they finish off the remnants of my imps (Skilled Darkness - slow, no dispel/summon/BDP, but planned/spells/attack with a devil). On the second turn, they = a massacre of my troops. Maybe I should open the path to the dwarves? What's there? That is, will the dwarves rush into the hole immediately or after some time? I wouldn't want to meet them and then have to reload at this level of development with dark elves and Arcata dragons :) or should I still gather troops and defeat the dark elves guarding the portal (where is it)?
