Got very lucky with ГО. The thought constantly nagged at me that something tough would turn up there and I would waste the entire timer; fortunately, it turned out to be Hydras. About three days later, the encounter happened where I managed to trade favorably and drive Bishop home. The next day, I found Bracers of Protection among the artifacts in the marketplace, which helped me get rid of Luna, who had arrived the following day.
Getting a taste of imminent victory, I messed up on the timer and nearly lost. By the third week, the opponent managed to gather a sufficiently strong army (on the starting zone, at that) and good stats, which allowed him to boldly break back into the center.
After capturing both central towns, Bishop deprived me of the opportunity to continue snowballing; the decision was made to fight. Knowing I had the Bracers, the opponent calmly powered up in the Castle; before the Fireball, I took them off as unnecessary, figuring that if something went wrong, I could buy myself out. In the end, the audacity was justified.
The final turned out amusing: since I had all the magic, there was a wide choice, but I overlooked that the opponent had taken the Pendant of Negativity for anti-Chain Lightning, so I had to focus mainly on Armageddon. At the decisive moment, just before casting the winning Armageddon, my Angel suffered a morale failure, allowing Bishop to summon Imps. Because I barely had enough to kill everything except the Imps, I quickly cast Armageddon and didn't even immediately notice that the Imps had also died; however, out of habit, I checked the Blind spell on the Imps, and hurray, it worked — it later turned out that Bishop had forgotten to remove the Spellbinder's Hat.
BtW, I still think that even without the Orb, victory was mine; one way or another, I would have had time to flee after resurrecting someone. And if the Bracers were involved, then who knows, it would have been a murky scuffle with the Imps.
Thanks for the games! It was exciting.
