I actually had no issues with resurrection (a Rakshasa was revived), so I replied with "Today, I just replayed the battle (the Beacon still doesn't revive units)."
It would have been a shame if it didn't work.

Regarding resurrection, I thought it wasn't from the item, but rather part of the scenario, so it's overpowered, yes.
