Player of the Year 2018

As is well known, history only remembers the result. Just like the famous Gomunguls vs. FTS series on Spider, which ended with the same crushing score, but no one remembers what the actual gameplay was like. The same applies to this series; the starting conditions (primarily, the practice time) were not equal, despite the much-touted "mirror match." Therefore, I wouldn't place such a significant emphasis on this series, although overall, the result is decent.

I also wouldn't focus on the "crushing" score of 5-0 in that series. After Dave's mistake in the first game on the timer (if he had just managed to switch his boots to MP, he would have won), there were two games where I had a very good hero draft, and with the score at 3-0, Dave simply tilted and played the last two games not at his best, probably wanting to finish it quickly. Dave is a very difficult opponent, and if our first game had gone differently, who knows how that series would have ended.
By the way, Dave asked before the New Year if I would be interested in playing another series, so maybe there will be a rematch:smile13:

P.S. But I don't quite agree with the idea of unequal conditions in this series. After all, just six months before that, Dave won an entire mirror match tournament (which, by the way, is considered a major achievement for him, and from which I unfortunately had to withdraw thanks to Vik).
