How about giving absolute cowardice to all goblins?:D
This is an exaggeration... 50 goblins running away from 1 peasant looks strange; in Dark Messiah, goblins only ran away after significant losses, but in Heroes 5, they run away constantly, which is silly! Peasants encountering a knight would behave the same way as goblins – they would attack, suffer losses, and partially retreat, but Heroes 5 thinks that a peasant should stand against a cyclops like a royal guard! It's better to attribute such desertion to losses in close combat.
Added after 28 minutes The only explanation for the extreme cowardice of goblins in Heroes 5, in my opinion, is that they hate orcs and are trying to increase their losses in every possible way, but there is simply no reason for neutrals to put themselves in such a position.
