Awakening of Evil

So, hello everyone. I downloaded and started replaying this campaign, and the first mission went quite smoothly and was easy. But now, in the second mission, I'm having problems. I took a quest to capture a human town (I had already destroyed the elves), but when I get there... well, that's it. They don't pay any attention to me, I can walk around the town peacefully, and I have no idea how to start a battle. Basically, what can I do? Unfortunately, I don't have any saves before accepting the quest, and replaying after 7 hours of gameplay would be quite unpleasant.
