Among young people, there's a desire for a "state of social justice," amplified by idealized stories from parents and the current reality (with significant social stratification). This creates a "nostalgia" for a place they haven't experienced. There are almost no balanced assessments. Instead, there are exaggerations about an "ideal state" on one side and claims of "a billion people personally executed by Stalin" from liberals. In both cases, they're feeding people outright lies, so I won't evaluate all this or engage in an argument. Besides, this is a "Heroes of Might and Magic" forum, not a political one.
