There are not two, but three basic forms of address:
1. (position of EQUALS) OFFER
2. (position from above) command
3. (position from below) request

in my opinion, any request is humiliating

I don't intend to engage in further discussion; I just want to clarify my position. In your concept of the world, is asking someone to pass the salt at the table or hand over payment for a ride considered a position from below?
