Thoughts on the "Please register me for the tournament" button. I don't understand at all why it says "please" instead of "I want to register for the tournament." I understand the Soviet-era logic of subservience to authority, which has become a habit, where every statement needs to start with the word "please," but I don't understand why it's necessary here too.
