Boomerang (L) and Nostalgia (XL on fast speeds) are decent templates.
In my opinion, comparing them to Diamond and Mini-Nostalgia is essentially incorrect.
They represent different ideological groups, which I outlined in "Favorites."
Diamond and Mini-Nostalgia are based on gambling – there's a very high chance of one-sided matches, as has been repeatedly mentioned in game reports since the first "Game of Thrones."
Boomerang and XL-Nostalgia are more skill-based, where the chance of winning depends much more on playing ability. (This chance decreases as playing ability increases, because at the highest level, the score sometimes comes down to "millimeters," but in general, these are quite competitive setups where the quality of play determines almost everything).
So, choosing between Boomerang and Diamond isn't about which template is better, but about what type of gameplay will fill the tournament pool. Will there be a balance of gameplay styles, or will one style be prioritized?
If Boomerang were in Soda, it would undoubtedly take the place of 8mm6a in the pool (a sub-XL template that, according to statistics, is losing popularity from tournament to tournament).
Antares seems very good at first glance, but we didn't have enough time to play it properly.
Andromeda is even harder to assess – it's large and complex. Theoretically, it has the potential to become the most esports-oriented template, but we need the opinions of more experienced players and more playtime (and I mean not just myself).
