Shaman King

This cartoon was a childhood favorite of my friend. She retold half of it to me in great detail back then, so I was quite familiar with it. Recently, we were talking, and she mentioned that she watched it as an adult and enjoyed it. I happened to have nothing to watch at the time, and having survived five seasons of Sailor Moon, I decided I could handle anything.

+ Very funny. The humor is a bit silly at times, but still amusing. I laughed like a hyena in almost every episode. The situation was made even better by the fact that I watched most of the cartoon with a Russian fansub, and I laughed even harder at some of the gems in the translation than at the actual jokes in the series. The plot/characters are decent; there are no major surprises or additions to my "husbando" list, but it's not cringeworthy either. I would say that everything is quite good in this regard.
- I don't really have any major complaints. Except that I found it hilariously funny when several characters were beating each other up, a group of spectators stood nearby munching on popcorn, and they would all periodically stop to catch their breath and chat about life. This is a common trope, but it happens in almost every episode, taking up about half the runtime.
= 9/10. Sailor Moon for boys, with a slightly more coherent plot, slightly less everyday life and romance, but overall, the essence is the same: a teenage fantasy comedy. It's perfect for a good laugh, to relax, to clear your head after watching "Titans," and to draw to while watching. I give it a thumbs up.
