Questions about changing rules, balancing, etc., should be posted in the appropriate threads. There are already plenty of those; this thread isn't about that.
It's possible that some people have already found all the necessary scouting patterns that can be easily applied with a few clicks, etc. I find it hard to believe, but I would definitely be interested in seeing how this is implemented. And I would start using it, rather than reinventing the wheel. But so far, I haven't seen any such information publicly available. Moreover, I often see on streams that it takes 30 seconds of the timer to scout just 4 screens. And the calculations based on scouting are often done very roughly, if such attempts are even made. I base my information on this.
You don't have to reveal the secret of how you applied the scouting pattern and did the calculations, but answer this: how much time did it take? And is it really possible to do this online? With what timer?
There are no secrets. I simply counted the squares manually (almost), just like in the game. The scouting pattern is a bit more difficult. All of this is absolutely applicable online; in fact, that's exactly what I'm talking about. And I'm sure that over time, calculations based on scouting will "become part of the meta" more and more, in one form or another, at least at the top level. The timer, by the way, plays a minimal role. You can easily take a screenshot in one second, and analyze it during your opponent's turn.
The same could be done by going directly from the road and then jumping to the city.
Exactly.
