Because I didn't see that I could pass near the knights (and then settle in the city to regenerate mana), I attacked without hesitation against a group of Gorgons near the Keep, which successfully defeated me. Even if I had returned on foot, the opponent would still have lost a lot of units on the 30 green tiles that blocked his passage. So, I was my own worst enemy.
