Player rating for tournaments across all installments of Heroes.

The imperfection of the system can affect absolutely any sector of the players.

That is why a scheme consisting of two components was proposed: place and result. They decided, it seems, to equalize their importance – which I fully agree with, after analyzing different Tournaments.
In such a system, components depending on the result (the leader's result – as a standard) and on the place are taken into account: according to a curvilinear function (more concave than in biathlon).
In my opinion, this is the most balanced and simple system!

This is exactly what Iron and I were trying to organize!
But it should only be applicable to a specific period (a tournament consisting of several stages, or a seasonal cycle). And in general, the overall rating should remain overall – without any deletions.
