The comparison wasn't with regular heroes, but specifically with companion heroes, considering the ban on Dragon and Gelu. In my opinion, enchanters and snipers are very weak (their stacks are almost one-shot), and those same bears with anti-magic under Kilgore will give more advantage than additional archers, for which you also have to pay a considerable amount of money.
