The described idea is not nonsense at all; at the beginning of my Heroes journey, I only played like this with friends – in hotseat mode, without looking away from the screen during the opponent's turn. We had quite meaningful games. And they were shorter – if someone gained an unrecoverable advantage, there was no need to waste time finishing them off.
