I also played through the initial version. In the war, it took 160 days (with the witch's artifact). First, I tried with a hero, but Vittorio didn't get a tent, and his army took a beating. Those insignificant acquisitions didn't compensate for the losses. So, I replayed it with a warrior. There weren't any particular difficulties. I didn't like the long exploration of the dungeon. Maybe a cartographer or a lookout tower would help. I even wanted to quit. But overall, I liked the map. It has many interesting ideas. Good luck!
